I love visiting cute bakeries and cozy cafés, especially when I need a reset. There’s just something about the smell of fresh pastries and good coffee that instantly puts me in a better mood. And recently, I found a spot that’s now one of my absolute favorites: Kneads Bakeshop & Café located in Harbor East Baltimore, and let me tell you, it’s a total vibe.

Place & Proximity
It’s about 30 minutes from Towson, so it’s not too far but just far enough to make you feel like you’ve escaped for the day. The area has that chill city vibe, a little fancy, super walkable, and full of life. The whole place has this bright, modern look, big windows, comfy seating, and an upstairs area that’s quieter, which is perfect if you want to get work done. They have outlets (because what’s a study spot without them?
Cost & Consideration
It’s affordable, their prices range from about $2-20 dollars, you can grab a fresh bagel for just $2.50 or even treat yourself to their bigger meals that stay under $20 dollars.
And if you’re not really in the mood for breakfast food, don’t worry, they got you all covered with lunch and dinner options. They have fresh pizza, salads, and warm or cold sandwiches.
Ambiance & Ease
I ordered a hot pumpkin spice latte with a parfait; I could’ve stayed there all day. The people there were friendly, the playlist had such a vibe, and the whole space just had that “everything’s going to be okay” energy. Which I feel like every college student should feel, especially since finals are coming up.
Views & Vibes
After I finished my notes, I decided to take a walk around the area. There’s a nice waterfront where people are walking their dogs, jogging, shopping, or just sitting by the water. It’s the perfect way to clear your head after studying.
So, if you’re feeling stuck in the same campus routine or just want a new place to study, treat yourself to a little “study escape.”
