Want a place to chill and listen to local bands? Check out the Recher Theatre! at 512 York Rd, in Towson. Getting to the theatre is easy you can take the Towson shuttle down there or you can walk. It is around a 10-20 minute trip depending on where you are on campus.
The Recher Theatre serves as a place where up and coming
bands can perform and show off their talent. It’s aA fun hangout spot for local
college students to go out and have fun with their friends and dance the night away.
My friend and I went to check out our friend’s band performing at the Recher for the first time. The tickets were $15 and the doors opened at 7pm, lasting up around 11:30pm. We got there a couple of hours late getting there around 10:30pm but it was still lively as ever.

We were greeted with the noise of people cheering and singing along to the
band that was on stage. The Recher typically gives each band
about an hour maybe more to perform new, old, and cover songs that they thought their
fans would want to hear. Our friend’s band was the very last performance so while I waited, I
was able to take in the surroundings a bit more.

The room was dimly lit with a disco ball on the ceiling shining down a purplish, pinkish light, there was a colorful bar to the side of the room, and a bunch of people dancing listening to the live music.

As the night went on the band on stage did an amazing set with all the lights from the stage beaming down on them. Next up after them was my friend’s band. The start of their set was cool, they had a bunch of choreographed parts such as their intros, and few bits here and there. It kept the show engaging and a lot of fun to be at. MORE DETAIL

Later in the show, while planning, my friend and another one of the bandmates came down from the stage and started playing on the dance floor. It was such a fun move to witness.
Throughout the night, the Recher still kept up the same lively energy with people talking and taking pictures with the bands. A great night out.
